Mia and I decided to go for a walk today, even though it's still too hot to go to the playground (99 degrees but feels like 117 degrees), we didn't want to be trapped inside all day. Plus we needed a few items from the supermarket to make some veggie curry tonight.
This time I didn't forget my camera.
I cannot count the number of tears and heart breaks I have had since living in Qatar. There are way too many stories and it's too hard to describe. Perhaps one day, when I'm removed from here, I'll be better able to express my feelings and thoughts about this, shall we say, unique place.
Today I decided to document what is seen here in Al Wakrah on any given day. When I first arrived, these images broke my heart, but not now, now I am angry and disgusted that some Qataries (or anyone) think that these living conditions are ok for the people they hired to work in this country.
Having lived in NYC and in Brazil, I've seen some pretty awful living conditions. But this doesn't compare. The circumstances are different.

| I didn't want to linger too long, but I'm pretty sure they were cooking or eating there... |

| The small green spray-painted sign says, 'room for rent' (I removed the phone number). People live there. Someone inquired as to why I was taking this photo... it was my last one for the day. |
